Meet Our Principal Therapist & Founder

Brooke Russell

Brooke is a West Australian trained Occupational Therapist who began specialising in cancer care working at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital over 10 years ago after experience in different clinical areas including mental health and acute medical care. She moved to London and gained experience in some of the UK’s biggest cancer centres, working in both the NHS public sector and for a private hospital. She has been involved in Cancer Care research, partnering with Curtin University and has co-authored an article on cancer care, completed further study in Cancer Rehabilitation and brain tumour management and is a Pinc & Steel accredited Cancer Rehabilitation Therapist.

After setting up an OT Cancer clinic in London, Brooke looked to do the same on her return to Perth and realised that while there were many brilliant OTs, there were no specialist services focussing just on Cancer Care in the private sector.

She continues to work in the public sector, where she is a Senior Cancer Therapist and is involved in ongoing cancer care research, treating patients and teaching other therapists.

WACOT was built on Brooke's vision that people living with and beyond cancer can access specialist services with confidence and continue to
live good quality lives no matter their diagnoses.
